Requirements For BVN Change Of Name.

Here are the requirements for change of name on BVN in Nigeria:

1. Valid means of identification, e.g. National Identification Card, Voters Card, drivers license or International Passport
2. Your BVN Number
3. Account Name
4. Newspaper Publication
5. Marriage Certificate: This one is only for married women who no longer use their father’s last name and now use that of their husbands in account opening. Here, you will need to present your marriage certificate showing your desired name and a newspaper published copy.
6. Court Affidavit

NOTE: The name you wish to change must appear in the Newspaper Publication and Court Affidavit.

Process To Change Your BVN Name.

Once you have gotten all the above requirements, follow the steps below;

1. Visit the bank you registered for Bank Verification Number (BVN).

2. When you get to the bank, go to the customer service section and inform them you want to make some changes to your BVN name.

3. They will direct you to the Officer in charge of the BVN registration. It is always a special unit of the bank.

4. The bank officer will now give you a BVN incidence or BVN correction form to complete.

5. Having filled the form, you are expected to return the incidence/correction form.

6. The maximum working days for the resolution is 120 hours, equivalent to 5 working days.

Here are the requirements to change your BVN date of birth:

National Identification Number (NIN), Voters Card or International Passport

• Wrong Date of Birth
• Birth Certificate
• Correct Date of Birth
• Account Name
• BVN
• Court affidavit.

How To Check Your BVN On MTN, Airtel, GLO and 9mobile

To check your BVN number, dial *565*0# on all mobile network in Nigeria. NOTE; you must use the same mobile number you used to register your BVN to dial the code.

In case you can not access the phone number because you have misplaced it or stolen, you will need to go to your bank and request for your BVN.

Go to the bank customer service, make your intention known, write your bank account number on a piece of paper with your signature and hand it over to the bank agent.
